Onward Privacy Policy

Effective 9 October 2026 · Publisher: Saaram Labs · Contact: contact@saaramlabs.com

Onward is a habit and goal tracker for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device (very little), and the choices you have. It applies to the Onward apps on iOS and Android and their home-screen widgets.

The short version

What the app stores on your device

Everything you enter is saved in the app's private storage on your phone:

Habit names can be personal, so please remember that anything you type into the app is kept in this local storage. The app does not read your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, calendar or health data, and does not ask for those permissions.

Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts

Widgets. The home-screen widgets show your habits and today's progress. To do that, the app and its widgets share the same on-device storage (an App Group on iOS). Nothing is sent anywhere.

Siri and Shortcuts (iOS). If you use Siri or the Shortcuts app to log or add a habit, the app tells iOS the names of your habits so that "I did a habit in Onward" can be understood. That information is handled by Apple on your device and under Apple's privacy policy; it does not come to us.

What leaves your device

Nothing about your habits. Onward does not upload your habits, check-ins or settings to us or to any third party, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software.

Purchases. Onward Pro is a purchase made through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). The store processes your payment and tells the app whether Pro is unlocked. We do not receive your payment details or your name, and the store's own privacy policy governs what it collects.

Store reports. Apple and Google may give developers aggregated, anonymous reports about an app, such as downloads or crash counts, if you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your phone's settings. We do not receive anything that identifies you.

Backups. Your phone's own backup, such as iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google's backup on Android, may include Onward's data, depending on your device settings. That backup is controlled by Apple or Google, not by us, and you can turn it off in your phone's settings.

Sharing

We do not collect your information through the app, so we have nothing to sell or share. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not work with data brokers.

Retention and deletion

Security

Your data stays in the app's protected storage on your phone and is protected by your device's own lock screen and encryption. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so please keep your device updated and locked.

Children

Onward is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. The app does not collect personal information from anyone.

Your choices

You can edit, archive or delete any habit in the app, remove widgets at any time, turn off your phone's backup for Onward, and delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. If a future version of Onward starts to collect or send any information, such as cloud sync, reminders sent from a server, or AI features, we will update this policy first and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
